Following the successful release of the BS82C16A-3, Holtek is now delighted to announce the release of a new Touch Key Flash MCU with LED/LCD Driver, the BS82D20A-3.
In addition to having 20 touch keys, and including all the advantages of its predecessor device, it also consumes less power, has a higher detection update rate as well as improved anti-interference abilities. Its internal LED/LCD driver supports 4 segments with current output control which are able to drive LED/LCD displays directly without requiring additional external current-limiting resistors or transistors. With fewer components and lower cost, the device will find excellent use in small appliances which require touch key functions and LED/LCD touch panels. By including both I2C and UART interfaces, the device can be used as a master MCU device or work together with other master MCUs to implement touch key detection and LED/LCD display systems.
The new device meets with the industrial specifications requirements of -40oC~85oC operating temperature, operating voltage of 2.7V~5.5V and has an extended Program Memory capacity of 8K words, an SRAM Data Memory capacity of 768 bytes, an integrated RTC function, touch keys pin-shared with I/O ports, I2C and UART interfaces, integrated high accuracy RC oscillator and a 2.55V fixed voltage Low Voltage Reset. This comprehensive range of functions combine to offer a device which will see wide use in small appliances with LED/LCD touch panels, such as refrigerators, cooking appliances, smoke exhaust ventilators, microwave ovens etc. By also providing an OCDS EV device and a new touch development platform, users have all the tools to hand to ensure rapid product development.
Along with other Holtek 8-bit MCUs, this new device has a full array of protection features including high noise immunity, Watchdog Timer and Low Voltage Reset to provide maximum protection when operating in hostile environments. The device is available in 24-pin SOP and 28-pin SOP packages. |
