Energy resources account 20% of Uzbekistan's exports in 1H 2011

Share of energy and oil products in total exports of Uzbekistan made up 19.6% in the first half of 2011 compared to 25.1% in January-June 2010, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
After energy resources, services were the second largest export item of Uzbekistan with the share of 11.6% in January-June 2011 (9.5% in January-June 2010).
Food products were on third place with 8.9% share in the reporting period compared to 6.5% in the same period of 2010, the committee said.
Share of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in exports reached 7.9% (6.9% in January-June 2010), cotton-fiber - 6.5% (10.1%), chemical products - 5.4% (4.7%), as well as machinery and equipment - 7% (4.6%).
Main import items of Uzbekistan were machines and equipment, which accounted 41.9% of imports of Uzbekistan (45.6%).
Uzbekistan also imported chemical products and products from them - 13.4% (14.8%), food products - 12.2% (11%), non-ferrous and ferrous metals - 8% (7.9%) and services 5.2% (5.2%), as well as energy and oil products - 7.9% (3.3%).
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$12.066 billion in the first half of 2011 (+21%), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the CIS states hit US$5.025 billion (+29.9%) and with other states - US$7.041 billion (+15.4%) in the reporting period. |
