Atlas Copco acquires Chinese manufacturer of compressed air treatment products

Stockholm, Sweden, February 13, 2012: Atlas Copco (China) Investment Co. Ltd. has acquired the Wuxi Shengda Air/Gas Purity Equipment Co., Ltd. in China; a company with annual revenues of MCNY 95 (MSEK 85). The acquisition extends Atlas Copco's market presence and product offering in China.
Wuxi Shengda is based in and has production facilities in Wuxi, near Shanghai, where it manufactures compressed air and gas drying and filtration equipment. It is a privately owned company with 130 employees, and has been active in the air treatment industry since 1996.
"This acquisition is in line with Atlas Copco's strategy to offer complete solutions to our customers," said Stephan Kuhn, Business Area President of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique. "It provides us with a wider and more complete range of air and gas treatment equipment, and increases our production, sales and service presence in China."
Shengda's customer base mainly consists of state-owned steel, car manufacturing, petrochemical, textiles and electronics companies. The company, which will become part of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique's Quality Air division, will continue to operate under the Shengda brand name. |
